Madeira Friends at the “Innovation and Future — Future Work” conference
Year 2022
In December 2022, “the Innovation and Future — Future Work” took place in Madeira, and we were thrilled to be part of it. This was our first involvement with a major conference event in Madeira, and it was an incredible experience! Big thanks to Diário de Notícias Madeira for their trust, teamwork and support!
The event gathered around 100 participants from business and academic sectors to discuss the impact of technological advancements on the future of work. Besides the classic keynote speakers, we had some great, honest talks, a duo of amazing hosts (both international and local), a professional networking moment, and a very insightful fireside chat with our guest specialists. Oh, and we also had a violinist setting the stage. The audience asked some thoughtful questions too!
We were proud to see members of Madeira Friends featured at the conference. Derek Smith, one of the hosts, did a remarkable job facilitating the event. Keynote speakers included Diana Tsai, co-founder and CEO of Upwage; Domenico Pinto, founder and Head of Change at Great Shift; Sini Ninkovic, a digital wellbeing expert; Andreia Collard, Regional Director of Informatics for Madeira; and Adrian Wright, a cybersecurity leader. They covered critical topics such as big data, artificial intelligence, work-life balance, digital wellbeing, and cybersecurity.
The conference provided a platform for engaging discussions, workshops, and networking sessions, fostering collaboration and idea exchange. The success of this event underscored Madeira Friends’ role in driving innovation and community engagement, setting a strong foundation for future initiatives.
